Service Description

One of the greatest luxuries of living in Kristiansand is the close proximity of the ocean as well as Ravnedalen and Baneheia, which provides beautiful nature trails immediately next to the city center. This is an area loved by locals and tourists alike and is very popular for recreation. We start at our meeting point before making our way up to Nord Café and continuing on to the entrance to Baneheia. Once we walk up that first hill from town we are in a beautiful nature reserve which, with the exception of walking trails, is mostly untouched. We are going to start out by walking up to the viewpoint Brannposten i Baneheia, this is where people would watch for potential fires back in the day and will provide you with a fantastic view of the city looking out towards the ocean. From here we will walk up to 2 Stampe, past 3 Stampe on our right and continue on towards Ravnedalen. Ravnedalen, or the Raven Valley, is a beautifully planted and managed park established between 1874-78 by General Oscar Wergeland. In the park ask your guide to show you one of Northern Europe's biggest Spruce trees planted in 1875. After enjoying the lovely Ravnedalen Park we will walk back up into Baneheia again. We will continue on the paths until we get back around to 3 Stampe, here we are going to follow the lovely trail snaking around the lake itself on our way back into town again. This is a leisure walk, and we are excited to take our time walking around and exploring the beautiful scenery.
